‘Unlocking’ tourism gets a push as IATTE organizes maiden educational trip

Reeling under pressure in the pandemic world, tourism stakeholders cheered for the maiden educational trip organized by the Indian Association of Travel & Tourism Experts (IATTE).

The famed Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand was home to the first-ever educational trip organized by IATTE between April 7 – 9, 2021. The event that saw an overwhelming response from the members of the association was restricted to about 40 participants to ensure the implementation of safety protocols. All the participants carried covid negative reports too in the course of their travel.

“The current challenging times means that we all need to travel responsibly following all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of a destination. The rationale behind this event was to educate our members about Jim Corbett and some of the properties that they can promote in their respective markets besides providing a networking platform to them,” said Naveen Manchanda, President, IATTE.

Manchanda shared that the association is keen to organize more educational events in both domestic and international destinations in the near future.

“Our family of IATTE is growing and we want to offer all our members an opportunity to learn and grow. We are thankful to all our partners and sponsors of the event for their constant support,” said Veena Robinson, General Secretary, IATTE.

The delegates stayed at Winsome Resort & Spa, the host accommodation partner of the event. Other properties that the group visited for familiarisation included TreehouseLa Savanna Resort by DL Hotels and The Blue Orchid Hotel & Resort. The event was also supported by Singapore Tourism Board and Ghoomosa DMC.

The educational trip culminated with a gala dinner hosted by The Blue Orchid Hotel & Resort and a certification distribution ceremony which recognized efforts of all the participants and sponsors for making the event a successful one. Also, present on the occasion were Gaurav Khandelwal & Jatin G. Mehta, Joint Secretaries, IATTE and Nischay Manchanda, EC Member, IAATE who worked relentlessly for the success of the event.
