Industry veteran Praveen Chugh is no more

Industry veteran and President of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Praveen Chugh suffered a fatal heart attack at New Delhi airport on Tuesday (March 26).
Chugh was in Mumbai for the Managing Committee meeting of TAFI and boarded an evening flight to the national capital. While at the airport, he suffered a heart attack and efforts by doctors there to revive were futile.

Chugh has played an instrumental role in the growth of the association and the industry in general. He had also recently taken over as Via – Chief Operating Officer, Agency Sales post the acquisition of his travel company by Ebix Cash.

Born on October 16, 1955, Chugh was serving his second consecutive term at TAFI. He also served as the Vice Chairman of the World Travel Agents Association Alliance (WTAAA).

Chugh’s sad demise has left the industry in shock and grief. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the demised.
