Chander Mansharamani, Managing Director, Alpcord Network Travel & Conferences has recently taken over as the Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) National Expert Committee on Tourism.
Mansharamani who is a well respected entrepreneur of the Indian MICE sector has also served as the Vice Chairman of the India Convention & Promotion Bureau (ICPB) in the past. “The recent initiatives taken by Ministry of Tourism like Champion Sector in Services will definitely help us in creating new opportunities. We also need to have a strong voice for policy advocacy deliberating on economic and social impact, job creation and global positioning. We will be working very closely with the Indian government on policy issues and enhancing the business opportunities,” said Mansharamani.
ICC is one of the leading business chambers of the country with a special focus on policy advocacy and business development. It comprises of Expert Committee and Regional State Councils. These Committees regularly interact with policy makers at national and state level keeping in view of Industry competitiveness and ease of doing business .
The ICC objective is to create market driven opportunities for tourism industry by participating in international trade exhibitions and organizing the domestic and international road shows in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and State Tourism Departments .
