Sunil Kumar has been elected as the new President of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) for the 2024-26 term. The national elections were held on Monday (September 30) at the ITC Maratha in Mumbai, following the conclusion of TAAI’s 73rd Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Kumar secured 306 votes, successfully defeating two other candidates, former President Jyoti Mayal and Harmandeep Singh Anand, who garnered 177 and 286 votes, respectively.
Joining Kumar on the leadership team is Lokesh Bettaiah, who has been elected as the Vice President. The newly elected office-bearers also include Shreeram Patel as the Honorary Secretary and Paras Lakhia as the Honorary Treasurer.
The election results mark a significant leadership change in TAAI, the oldest and largest association representing India’s travel agents. Kumar’s election as President is seen as a key moment for the organization, with members looking forward to his vision and approach over the next two years.
The new Managing Committee members elected are P Lalith Kumar Jain, Hema RV Chander, Sameer Karnani, Rajan Sehgal, Manav Soni, Gopal Unadkat, and Amish Desai, who will work closely with the newly elected leadership.
