Saint Petersburg invites tourists from India with diverse offerings

Saint Petersburg showcased its tourism potential at the BLTM 2024 international exhibition in India, held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi from August 29 to 31. As Russia’s second-largest industrial, scientific, cultural, and business center, Saint Petersburg is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage site, drawing both domestic and international visitors.

In 2023, Saint Petersburg welcomed 9.4 million tourists, who were captivated by the city’s magnificent palaces, scenic canals, rich museums, and vibrant cultural scene. The city continues to expand its range of attractions, including new additions from the “New Tourist Geography” — creative spaces that have become popular among locals and visitors alike.

Beyond its cultural and educational offerings, Saint Petersburg is actively developing unique types of tourism. Visitors can explore unusual industrial sites, enjoy a weekend at a wellness resort, or even plan a romantic wedding getaway in the picturesque setting of the Neva River. The city also serves as an ideal starting point for a broader journey through Russia. Through the “Two Cities – A Million Impressions” project, tourists can combine a visit to Saint Petersburg with a trip to Moscow. Additionally, the “Silver Necklace of Russia” routes allow travelers to delve into the rich history and culture of the Russian North.

Saint Petersburg places a high emphasis on service quality, boasting 1,200 hotels with diverse star ratings, comfort levels, and pricing options. The city offers a wide variety of restaurants, many of which rank highly in both national and international ratings. It also provides comprehensive amenities for tourists from the Middle East, including mosques, prayer houses, English-speaking staff in tourism and hospitality, halal menus, and concierge services for organizing leisure activities.

For event organizers, Saint Petersburg offers an array of unique exhibition and congress venues, diverse hotel options, a developed transportation network, and a range of excursion programs. The city hosts hundreds of business forums annually and has significant experience in managing international rotating events. The promotion of Saint Petersburg in the field of business tourism is managed by the Congress and Exhibition Bureau.

By presenting its offerings at the BLTM 2024 in India, Saint Petersburg is positioning itself as a premier destination for Indian tourists, showcasing a combination of cultural richness, modern amenities, and unique travel experiences.
