Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company, has introduced Wyndham Grand Fatehsagar Lake, Udaipur, marking a significant addition to the hospitality landscape of the “City of Lakes.” The unveiling event, led by Geoff Ballotti, President & CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, alongside property owner Chirag Maroo and his family, offered an exclusive preview of the hotel ahead of its grand opening later this year.
Udaipur has been gaining international recognition as a premier travel destination. Travel + Leisure recently ranked Udaipur as the second-best city in the world and the top city in Asia in its 2024 World’s Best Awards. The city welcomed over two million visitors last year, reflecting its growing appeal among both domestic and international tourists.
Located near Fateh Sagar Lake, the Wyndham Grand Udaipur spans 9.5 acres and features 140 luxury rooms. The property aims to cater to travelers seeking opulence, cultural immersion, and high-end hospitality.
In addition to its architectural grandeur, the hotel offers one of the largest event spaces in the region, including the Vintage Lawn, a venue designed for large-scale destination weddings. The hotel also features a banquet hall, a convention center, meeting rooms, and an outdoor entertainment zone. Notably, it houses Udaipur’s largest amphitheater, with a seating capacity of 240, making it a venue for both corporate and social gatherings.
The Wyndham Grand Fatehsagar Lake, Udaipur, is a fully vegetarian resort. Dining options include Pyaala, Shakahari, and O Sian, each offering a variety of vegetarian culinary experiences.
The addition of Wyndham Grand Fatehsagar Lake, Udaipur, aligns with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ expansion strategy in India. The company currently operates more than 65 hotels across multiple segments, from economy to luxury. The new property is expected to further strengthen Wyndham’s presence in the region while enhancing Udaipur’s reputation as a luxury hospitality and wedding destination.
As the hotel prepares for its grand opening, industry observers anticipate it will contribute to Udaipur’s growing appeal as a hub for high-end tourism and large-scale events.
