Dhikala Zone Opens For Tourists

Dhikala Zone, the most sought-after zone of the world-famous Jim Corbett National Park opens its gate on 15 November 2022 after the monsoon season. The Dhikala ecotourism zone has the most picturesque landscape in the Jim Corbett National Park. With immensely rich flora and fauna, the Dhikala Zone is the largest among the five zones of the Corbett Tiger Reserve with the most beautiful landscape consisting of dense Sal forest, large grassland, narrow valleys, and various channels of the Ramganga river. The Dhikala Zone is also the best zone to spot the rare Hog Deer, Asiatic Elephant, Sloth Bear, and the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger.

The Dhangari Gate, which is the entrance for Dhikala Zone is conveniently located just 18 kms from Ramnagar where most of the resorts are located, while the historic Dhikala Tourist Complex is located 31 Kms inside the Dhangari Gate. Tourists can also book their stay in this exclusive Complex to get the perfect wildlife experience of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Mr. Manish Kumar, Co-Founder eTroupers in an event held in Connaught Place today said “Come November, and it is the best time to visit the Jim Corbett National Park. With the opening of the much sought-after Dhikala Zone, it is the best time to take wildlife enthusiasts and tourists to Corbett. Today, Jim Corbett National Park, the first to be opened in India, is at the centrestage of the Indian Wildlife Tourism map. With great connectivity from many states like Rajasthan, Mumbai, Gujarat and the nearby Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR, I think this is the perfect time to promote wildlife tourism and also nature tourism in Corbett.”

Addressing the gathering of tourism stakeholders, Anil Oraw, Regional Director (North) Ministry of Tourism (Government of India) said, “Corbett is an amazing destination with huge potential. However, there is need for sustainable development so that tourism can grow in a big way in the region. Wildlife tourism is a huge draw among both domestic and international tourists and I wish all tourism stakeholders to jointly play a responsible role in the growth of tourism in Corbett.” Oraw urged the stakeholders to organise more Roadshows and events to create awareness about the other tourism products in the Kumaon region.

Mukesh Singh, MD, The Tattwaa Corbett Spa & Resort said “We are very glad to see the rising interest in Corbett among all tourist categories. Being very close to the Dhela, Jhirna, Phato and Bijrani gates, we see FITs and Corporates asking for more and more of the wilderness experience. Even schools are showing keen interest in trips to Corbett where children get to spend time amidst nature and the outdoors. I think Corbett has everything for everyone and can very well be an all-season destination.”
