The third edition of MGMC brought together over 2,500 attendees from the BRICS and the Global South, solidifying Moscow’s status as a leading MICE hub.
This December, Moscow hosted the world’s MICE community for one of the most anticipated events of the year — Meet Global MICE Congress 2025 (MGMC).
Held on 17–18 December at the World Trade Center, the congress brought together more than 2,500 participants from 37 countries of the BRICS and the Global South, as well as from Russian regions — twice as many as the year before. The event gathered international delegates, hosted buyers and exhibitors, reaffirming MGMC’s role as a global marketplace for ideas, partnerships and strategic collaboration.

The Meet Global MICE Congress 2025 has firmly established itself as a pivotal global hub for the MICE industry, facilitating over 8,000 B2B meetings — a record number in the event’s history. Designed to foster international collaboration, the congress served as a neutral, high‑impact platform where stakeholders from around the world could connect, exchange expertise, and explore new opportunities across markets.

For 200 Hosted Buyers, MGMC 2025 opened the doors to promising collaborations. MICE suppliers used the platform to showcase their services to new partners from BRICS countries, the Gulf, Central Asia, and the Global South. This multi‑market engagement reflects MGMC’s strengthening position in the MICE sector and provides Hosted Buyers with enhanced options to serve their clients across various geographies.
As the host city, Moscow played a key operational role in bringing this global gathering to life. The capital of Russia demonstrated its capacity to deliver large‑scale, logistically complex events — hosting over 2,500 international delegates and more than 150 keynote speakers from 40+ countries.

Notably, the congress also strengthened the emerging partnership between India and Moscow in the MICE domain. Indian planners and service providers found valuable synergies with Moscow‑based venues, suppliers, and event professionals, exploring mutual opportunities to co‑create experiences that meet global standards. This dialogue reflects a broader trend: as both India and Moscow invest in MICE infrastructure and talent, they are increasingly positioned as complementary nodes in a connected network of event destinations.
Ultimately, MGMC 2025 reaffirmed its role as a true cross‑border hub — one where regional strengths converge to shape the future of the global MICE industry.
A City Reimagining Business Tourism
Over the past years, Moscow has rapidly evolved into one of the most advanced MICE destinations in Eurasia. Its strengths lie in scale, safety, connectivity and technological sophistication. Moscow combines state-of-the-art facilities with a robust hospitality sector, a highly efficient transport network and a 24/7 urban ecosystem that ensures comfort for every delegate.
For organisers, hosting a MICE event in the Russian capital means access to experiences that go far beyond the conference hall. A major competitive advantage is the city’s natural suitability for bleisure travel, a model increasingly shaping global MICE demand. Delegates had a perfect opportunity to combine business programmes with cultural, gastronomic and leisure experiences of world-class quality. Moscow hosts more than 1,000 festivals and exhibitions annually, is home to renowned theatres and museums, and offers heritage estates ideal for receptions and immersive activities.
The timing of MGMC added special appeal: in December, the Winter in Moscow festival transformed the capital into a vibrant landscape of light installations, concerts, art projects and seasonal markets, creating an inspiring backdrop for professional dialogue.
India and Moscow: A Strong, Expanding Partnership

India remains one of the priority international markets in Moscow’s MICE strategy, a focus clearly reflected in the outcomes of MGMC 2025. The congress welcomed 53 hosted buyers from India, underlining the growing interest of Indian businesses in international cooperation and participation in global MICE platforms.
Moscow continues to engage with Indian industry professionals through participation in major exhibitions — including OTM, SATTE, BLTM and the MILT Congress — as well as through business missions and familiarisation trips.
Accessibility continues to grow thanks to major aviation hubs in the Middle East and Central Asia, which offer convenient one-stop connections from India alongside direct flights from Delhi. The fully digital e-visa system for Indian citizens — issued in less than a week and valid for 120 days with stays of up to 30 days — has further simplified travel planning.
As a result, tourism flows from India to Moscow continue to grow steadily among both leisure and business travellers. In 2024, Moscow welcomed 85,800 visitors from India, a 1.4-fold increase over 2023, with 40% travelling for business purposes. In the first half of 2025, arrivals increased by 40% year-on-year, reinforcing India’s strategic importance for Moscow’s tourism and MICE sectors.
The Road Ahead
The successful conclusion of MGMC 2025 further expanded professional partnerships, strengthened international ties and demonstrated why Moscow continues to grow as a compelling MICE destination for the Indian market. The congress created a platform where Indian stakeholders could deepen engagement with global partners, explore new business opportunities and take an active role in shaping the next stage of international MICE cooperation.
