A shared table filled with laughter, stories, and food made straight from the heart, that’s what defines the Mumbai Supper Club by Chef Raji Gupta in Lokhandwala. Known for her inventive live-on-table dining experiences, Chef Raji crafts exclusive seven-course meals that go beyond taste, they’re a celebration of connection, creativity, and culinary storytelling.
From serving as the Executive Editor at BBC Good Food India to receiving professional training in Thailand and Ireland, Chef Raji’s journey has been as flavourful as her dishes. One life-changing Netflix food show, she recalls, completely transformed her perspective on what food can mean and inspired the birth of this intimate supper experience.
The evening began with Husulu Hummus from Karnataka, layered with the fiery Maharashtrian Thecha and Roasted Kateri Brinjal topped with Bharleli Vangi Masala. One bite in, and the symphony of regional flavours and textures transports you to another world.
Next came the Deconstructed Rassam, where the presentation alone was a performance — a creative twist on a traditional South Indian comfort dish, with every element meticulously plated. Each course unfolded as a new surprise, revealing Chef Raji’s flair for blending authenticity with modern artistry.
The meal continued with Sukka Koli on Akki Roti, accompanied by a rich Ghee Roast Masala and seasonal vegetables, before a refreshing “Kagzi Lemon” palate cleanser reset the senses. The finale — a hearty Donne Biryani, offered in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions — stood out for its unforgettable green chutney that stole the spotlight. Dessert came in the form of Sihi, a Karnataka-inspired sweet that beautifully rounded off the meal.
Every dish at the Mumbai Supper Club is served live on the table, ensuring diners experience not just the food, but also the artistry and story behind it. Guests can either customize their menu in advance or surrender to the chef’s curated selection for an element of surprise — a choice that often leads to the most memorable experiences.
For those who believe dining should be more than just eating, Chef Raji Gupta’s Mumbai Supper Club offers an evening of warmth, wonder, and world-class flavour — right in the heart of Lokhandwala.
