Tourism Boom Ahead: Major Investments and Film Partnerships to Transform Madhya Pradesh’s Economy

Madhya Pradesh is poised to enter a new era of tourism growth with fresh investments, strategic partnerships, and a strong focus on promoting the state as both a film shooting and wedding destination. On Saturday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat jointly underlined the government’s commitment to positioning Madhya Pradesh among India’s leading tourism hubs.

During the Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav convened an extensive meeting with top investors, filmmakers, and tourism stakeholders in Bhopal. The session included one-on-one discussions focused on strengthening the state’s tourism infrastructure, boosting hospitality investments, and highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s natural and cultural appeal for film production.

Prominent personalities such as producer Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Productions — who signed an MoU to produce ₹50 crore worth of film and OTT content in the state — and celebrated actors Gajraj Rao and Raghuvir Yadav attended the meeting. International delegates including Lara Molina and Anna Saurafrom the Spanish Film Commission also joined the discussions, signaling growing global interest in Madhya Pradesh’s film-friendly ecosystem.

Dr. Yadav assured investors of full government support, emphasizing that Madhya Pradesh offers a seamless environment for tourism development, film shoots, and destination weddings. “We are committed to making Madhya Pradesh the most attractive center for tourism and film production in India,” he said.

Policy Reforms Driving Tourism Transformation

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat lauded Madhya Pradesh’s progress, attributing the state’s success to consistent policy reforms and effective governance. “The results we see today are the outcome of sustained reforms and visionary leadership. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as one of the most promising tourism destinations in India,” he said.

He highlighted that the growth of the tourism and hospitality sectors has generated over 90,000 employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the state’s economy. Shekhawat also reiterated the Central Government’s continued support through various schemes, including PRASHADand Swadesh Darshan, and assured that Madhya Pradesh would remain a key beneficiary under the recently launched Global Destination Development Scheme.

“The Government of India stands firmly with states like Madhya Pradesh that have shown proactive leadership in tourism development. With its holistic approach and world-class initiatives, the sky is truly the limit for Madhya Pradesh’s tourism sector,” the Minister remarked.

The event, attended by senior state ministers Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi and Krishna Gaur, marked a strong collaboration between policymakers and industry leaders. Together, they reiterated a shared vision — to make Madhya Pradesh a model state for sustainable tourism, vibrant hospitality, and global cinematic experiences.

With major MoUs being signed, growing interest from domestic and international investors, and robust policy support, Madhya Pradesh is rapidly transforming into India’s next big tourism success story.
