In a significant step toward fostering stronger tourism ties between India and Iran, the Iranian Tour Operators Association (ITOA) and the Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the recently concluded ITB India 2024 event in Mumbai. The signing ceremony took place at OTOAI’s booth at the event marking a pivotal moment in the collaborative efforts between the two nations.

The MoU was signed by Mostafa Shafie Shakib, Chairman of ITOA, and Riaz Munshi, President of OTOAI, in the presence of prominent members from both associations. Shravan Bhalla, Vice President of OTOAI, and Monia Kapoor, Joint Secretary of OTOAI, were present at the event, underscoring the importance of this strategic partnership.

The agreement aims to boost tourism cooperation, explore new opportunities, and build sustainable partnerships between India and Iran. “This collaboration marks an important milestone for both countries,” said Shakib, emphasizing the shared commitment to creating lasting synergies in the tourism sector.

The signing event was a key highlight of the ITB India 2024, one of the country’s most prestigious travel trade events. It further cemented the growing relationship between Indian and Iranian tour operators, paving the way for increased cultural exchange and the exploration of new tourism markets.

Munshi expressed optimism about the future of this partnership, stating, “This MoU will not only promote tourism between India and Iran but will also open new doors for cooperation, benefiting both our nations’ tourism industries.”

The presence of the Iranian delegation at the event demonstrated the importance of this initiative. With this partnership, both countries hope to enhance tourism potential, drive economic growth, and promote deeper cultural ties.

The MoU signing at ITB India 2024 marks a new chapter in the tourism relations between India and Iran, with both nations looking forward to reaping the rewards of this collaborative effort.
