New York City Tourism + Conventions Brings New York City to Trade Partners and Media in India Sustainability: Not just a buzzword

New York City Tourism + Conventions, the City’s official destination marketing organization and convention and visitors bureau for the five boroughs of New York City, hosted travel trade partners and media for a captivating evening featuring the iconic Broadway show, West Side Story at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai. Trade partners had the opportunity to witness the timeless tale of love and rivalry against the backdrop of a stunning Broadway production.

West Side Story, a classic masterpiece of musical theater, has captivated audiences for generations with its storytelling. Inspired by William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, the story is set in the mid-1950s in Upper  Manhattan in New York City, then a multiracial, blue-collar neighborhood.

We believe that fostering strong partnerships within the tourism industry is essential for creating memorable experiences for travelers,” said Makiko Matsuda Healy, Senior Vice President of Tourism Development, New York City Tourism + Conventions. “As part of our ongoing commitment to promote cultural experiences, we bought a piece of New York City to our  trade partners in India. We hope to deepen connections, inspire new collaborations, and continue to showcase New York City as a premier cultural destination.

The networking event provided the trade partners an opportunity to connect and share insights about the latest travel & tourism trends.
