The hotel is also situated near the popular MG road, and is just a short walk from the city center, thus making it a comfortable place to stay, without compromising on safety.

Ramada by Wyndham Gangtok offers 57 comfortable and well-appointed rooms and suites which are equipped with all the modern amenities. The rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished, thus offering its guests a comfortable stay experience. Furthermore, one can enjoy the stunning view of the snow-capped Mt Kanchenjunga from the hotel itself. The rooms are divided into various categories including Standard, Deluxe and Executive along with Suites, Duplex and Super Suites.

The hotel is definitely a good choice for weddings and business events considering strategically designed conference rooms, meeting rooms and special set-ups for weddings. In the past, the property has hosted various big events for corporate clients including Sun Pharma, SBI, BHEL, RBI among others.

Talking about the F&B, the restaurants and food are one of the high points of the hotel. Starting from continental food to regional cuisine, Ramada by Wyndham Gangtok has proved its prowess in the F&B offering. There is a 24-hour operational multi-cuisine restaurant – Trinity Restaurant & Bar in the hotel. If you wish to sip your hot cappuccino while enjoying the snowcapped mountains, The Sky Deck, its rooftop pool bar and restaurant is the best choice.

For health enthusiasts, there is BodyKraft gym, which will ensure that you do not miss out on your fitness regime. There is a Spa and Salon service available for guests too. The spa specialists at the hotel are professional and well-trained. After a detoxing Spa, one can opt for a hot steam and Sauna, which is located within the Spa premises.

Talking about the other highlight of the hotel – Casino Golden is extremely popular in the region. The casino has 32 live gaming tables and state-of-the-art gaming machines spread over 10,000 sq. ft across two gaming floors. It is believed to be the largest gaming destination in India. The casino offers an unforgettable experience to its guests.

Shashank Shanker Roy, General Manager of the hotel shared that in 2023 so far, the hotel has done extremely well and they are expecting a growth of nearly 20% in 2024.

We started our journey last year in May and we regularly innovated our strategy. In the beginning, there was nothing for the residents as no one was catering to locals. But we saw potential in this market and started offering breakfast and dinner buffets, which became an instant hit among the locals. We bought the change in the lifestyle of people. We are coming with a pub where one can relax and enjoy and have a great time with their close ones. We are also planning a midnight buffet at our hotel, which will definitely be a key attraction of our place,” said Roy.

He also shared about the property’s plans of bringing another cafe into the hotel which will be available 24/7, named as Buddha Cafe, where quick food like Kathi rolls, Sandwiches, etc. will be served.

Roy highlighted the intense competition to attract guests in the market is keeping the hoteliers on their toes. “Every brand is fighting to grow their share and customers can negotiate for the best price,” he added.

Roy sees a huge potential vested in the wedding and MICE segment. The hotel has a 2400 sq. ft. Imperia banquet hall which can easily accommodate more than 150 guests. The hotel lobby and other open areas along with banquets can be utilized to host luxurious weddings amidst nature.

While sharing about the challenges being faced in operating a property like Ramada which has to maintain a certain standard Roy said, “Sikkim faces a lot of infrastructure challenges like procuring raw material is very tough. We depend on Siliguri, Kolkata and Delhi markets for the supply of raw materials. Once the footfall increases, sourcing raw materials will become further challenging. In the given scenario we have to store the material in large volume. Here, we don’t have any contractual rate, that’s why the food cost has always remained on the higher side.

Talking about the sustainability practices of the property, the hotel follows practices like recycling the water and using covers for the Swimming pool – which helps them to maintain the temperature of the swimming pool (the hotel has a temperature-controlled infinity swimming pool), located on the top floor.

All the popular tourist places like Nathula Pass, Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), Rumtek Monastery, Hanuman Tok, Baba Mandir, Ban Jhakri Falls Park, and others are in closer proximity to the hotel.
