If you want a home-like taste and love, order from Homefoodi

Are you also tired of eating food from restaurants and hotels? Well, I was. So I decided to try the food from Homefoodi during Navratras and I was pleasantly surprised. The food just tasted like how my mother used to cook. It reminded me of my home and I had a hearty meal after so long. The food was made with pure love and care. The Chef’s name was Sandhyaji, based in Rajouri. I spoke to her and found out that cooking is a hobby to her and to shape her dreams, she joined Homefoodi. She believed in serving not just food, but love and happiness. She also has a YouTube channel where she shares recipes for her food. I was amazed to see her zeal and enthusiasm at this age when people want to retire, but she has developed her hobby into her profession. She is supported by a loving family who unconditionally helps her and encourages her for following her dream.

Although all the dishes served were very delicious, however, Vrat ke Dahibadey, Arbi Ki Sabzi, and Makhane ki Kheer stood out. I got so addicted to her food that after Navratras, I again ordered from her. This time it was a regular meal and I loved Bharwa Baigan, Kadi Pakoda, and Gobhi Parantha from her through the app. The packaging was clean and spill-proof. Food was freshly made and hygienically cooked. I am sure I will keep on ordering more from her. She also told me that she gets regular orders from the app and people from the company are very helpful in making her understand the process. There are regular checks done by the company which ensure that the food is cooked in proper hygienic conditions and is healthy at the same time.

Now about the app. I wanted to try something light and home-like as was missing my family. So I thought to give Homefoodi a try. And I am really glad that I did. Many home cooks didn’t get the chance to showcase their talent and this app gives them a common platform to showcase their capabilities. When asked about how the concept of Homefoodi came into existence, Narendra Singh Dahiya, Founder & CEO, Homefoodi shared that their research across the top metro cities indicated a sizeable unmet demand for homemade food for the following 5 use case scenarios:

– Students staying alone looking for Home Food Tiffin Services regularly.

– Young Working Professionals seeking the convenience of Ordering Homemade Food when they are unable to cook by themselves or do not have house help.

– Senior Citizens looking for Healthy Home Cooked Food during a period of ill health or inability to cook.

– Explorative Consumers looking forward to ordering Authentic Homely Meals across the food culture of India.

– Health-Conscious Consumers tired of Ordering Restaurant Food and craving “Non-Spicy & Non-Oily” Ghar Ka Khana.

Their research also indicated that a sizeable population of Homemakers have a passion to cook and are looking for a platform to serve the above needs. Homefoodi was started with the purpose of “Ghar Ghar Start-Up” to empower Homemakers to work and earn from home by being Home Chefs.

When asked about challenges he faced, he said, “Business has been very encouraging and we are delighted that we have a family of more than 100 Home Chefs across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Mumbai, Hyderabad & Bengaluru. In the age of instant food delivery by restaurant aggregators, the key challenge is to convince customers that freshly cooked home meals take about 60 Minutes to prepare. Our industry-first initiative “Talk to the Home Chef” is an innovative step to help bridge this understanding. Every order on Homefoodi is cooked as per the taste preference of the Customer which is possible on any other food delivery app. Little wonder, we have a customer satisfaction score of 94%.”

The company was only operational in Noida till March 2022 to understand the operational challenges and define a playbook to scale in other cities. In the second quarter of 2022, they launched in Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Hyderabad & Bengaluru. They plan to mount the model in these cities in the next 1 year.

Well, I am sure that there is a huge scope for the company and people like me definitely want to try Ghar ka Khana soon! So all the best to them.
