T. Bobby Singh joins as General Manager, Pushkara Sarovar Portico, Dibrugarh

Sarovar Hotels and Resorts appoints Tourangbam Bobby Singh as the new General Manager for newly opened hotel Pushkara Sarovar Portico, Dibrugarh.

A passionate individual with strong business expertise, he brings with him close to two decades of experience. His core strength lies in hotels pre-opening, MICE & banqueting business, operations management and recruitment with strong operation background.

With industry exposure across leading hotel chains in India, Mr. Singh worked with The Oberois, Grand Hyatt, ITC Marriott, InterContinental Hotels, Claridges, Kingdom of Dreams an entertainment destination and Radisson Blu Hotels. He has been associated with pre openings as well as running hotels and has accomplished operational success in all spheres. 

Before joining Sarovar Hotels, he worked as a freelance hospitality consultant for opening hotels & restaurants and organizing events. He holds an Executive MBA degree in Hospitality Management and a B.Sc. graduate from D.M. College of Science, Imphal. In his free time he likes reading, travelling, Photography and Table tennis.

Alessio Minetto joins as General Manager, The Woodward, Geneva

Oetker Collection announces that Alessio Minetto has been appointed General Manager of the collection’s latest Masterpiece Hotel, The Woodward, marking the brand’s arrival in Geneva.

The Woodward is a new – and the first in Geneva – suite-only hotel with just 26 keys. Situated directly on the shores of Lake Geneva with awe-inspiring views of majestic Mont Blanc, the post-Haussmann-style hotel dating back to 1901 is located on Quai Wilson, and has been transformed by world-renowned architect, Pierre-Yves Rochon. Beyond The Woodward’s historic façade, visitors will encounter classic-meets- contemporary interiors, providing a stylish city sanctuary with spectacular lake and mountain vistas. With restaurants including LAtelier Robuchon and vegetable driven Le Jardinier as well as the 1,200 sq. metre Guerlain Spa, The Woodward is truly Geneva’s lakeside home of haute living.

Having studied in the US and UK, in addition to undertaking a course at the respected Swiss École Hôtelière de Lausanne, Minetto’s hospitality career commenced at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris. Managerial roles followed in France, Italy, Monaco and China, where he worked for several of the world’s most prestigious hotels, including Hotel Plaza Athenée, Paris; La Posta Vecchia, Rome; Hotel de Paris, Monaco; and the Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai. Minetto most recently held the role of General Manager at Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa in Ischia

Aashish Kumar Arora joins as Director of Sales, The Westin Pune 

The Westin Pune is pleased to announce the appointment of Aashish Kumar Arora as Director of Sales, who will be responsible for the hotel’s commercial growth, brand reputation, and devising initiatives to boost the hotel’s positioning.

A dynamic team leader, Aashish, in his current role, will be focusing not only on the business recovery of the hotel post the pandemic, but would also work towards the reinforcement of the brand and its core ethos. He will also be working to create a new and sustainable business stream for the hotel.

Aashish comes with a rich experience, spanning over a decade, where he excelled in hospitality, business development, strategic management and knowledge of various market segments. Proud to have grown within the Marriott Group, from being a team member to managing a team, he has his foundations firmly rooted.

In each of his prior responsibilities, he has made significant contributions to the brand that have resulted in him achieving senior positions at the company, which he well deserves. Throughout, he has been a dynamic, result-oriented, loyal and seasoned professional to his organisation. At Westin, Aashish will work closely with the leadership team of the hotel to positively impact the overall hotel goals and guest satisfaction. His focus will be to position the hotel as a market leader in the luxury lifestyle segment keeping in mind the evolving market conditions.

Tusch Daroga joins us as General Manager, The Westin Sohna Resort and Spa.

The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Tusch Daroga as the General Manager. A seasoned hospitality professional equipped with over 15 years of diverse multi-cultural experience working with myriad of luxury brands across the country in varying capacities, Tusch brings with him a wealth of knowledge, deep expertise in the industry and great experience in handling the Indian market.  

A management graduate from the Merit Swiss Asian School and having learnt the finer nuances of hospitality from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development; he began his career with the Oberoi Group in 2004 and worked with them for over a decade in five of their properties which covered both luxury and premium hotels in the business and resort space across the country. Thereafter he moved to The Leela Group where he helmed strategic roles with The Leela Palace Udaipur and The Leela Palace New Delhi in his efficacious stint of 3 years. His journey with Marriott International began in 2018 as Hotel Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore, where he was pivotal in scaling new heights and creating industry benchmarks in many aspects for the luxury hotel.

In his new capacity, Tusch’s vision is to continue leveraging the esteemed reputation of The Westin Sohna Resort and Spa, to lead it through its next phase of evolution by bringing his energetic touch of charm, innovation and creativity in curating well-knit experiences seeped in wellness, rejuvenation, recreation and inspired by global trends. Shaariq Akhtar joins as General Manager ITC Kohenur, Hyderabad

ITC Hotels has appointed Shaariq Akhtar as the General Manager of ITC Kohenur, Hyderabad.

An alumnus of the prestigious ITC Hotel Management Institute and part of the WelcomLegionnaire Programme, Shaariq has over 16 years of hospitality experience. He has worked at ITC Windsor, Bengaluru and at the iconic ITC Grand Chola, Chennai where he served for a decade in various roles. He made award-winning contributions to the hotel’s grand opening, launch and establishment of various food and beverage brands, ensuring consistent scale-up of business and superior quality guest experience. 

In his previous assignment as the Resident Manager for ITC Grand Chola in Chennai. Shariq was known for his commitment towards his guests and his team, his passion for quality hospitality, his aptitude for pioneering food and beverage concepts and his zeal for ensuring consistent talent development.

In his time off from work, Shaariq enjoys reading, trekking, and traveling, and is an avid follower of football and music. 

Neha Rana Dutta joins as the Chief Human Resources Officer, Espire Hospitality

Espire Hospitality, the owning company of Six Senses Fort Barwara and the owner & operator of the mid-market resort chain ‘Country Inn Hotels and Resorts’ announced the appointment of Neha Rana Dutta as the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Dutta is a well-known Human Resource professional in the hospitality industry and has helped achieve business transformation through people processes in her past organizations. 

In her new role at Espire Hospitality, she will spearhead the human resource function for Six Senses Fort Barwara, steer the full spectrum of the function for Espire Hospitality and will support the expansion plans of the company. The company plans to expand its Country Inn Hotels & Resorts portfolio and introduce a new luxury boutique resort brand in early 2022.

Commenting on the announcement, Akhil Arora, Chief Operating Officer, Espire Hospitality said “I am pleased to welcome Neha to our leadership team, at this crucial time for our company when we are starting the next chapter for Espire Hospitality.
