As part of its strategy to promote the destination as a must visit for Indian golfers, Thailand launched the fourth edition of its golf travel loyalty program, Thai Golf Pass officially last week.
Thai Golf Passport was launched in India for the maiden time in association with SLW, the leading Golf Management company in 2017 to offer Indian golfers a seamless golf experience in Thailand. This unique initiative by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), New Delhi Office brings all suppliers under one platform and offers amazing rewards on the redemption of loyalty points.
“We will continue to promote Thailand as a top golfing destination in the Indian market. The current scenario is challenging for the tourism sector but I expect that leisure travel will start picking up by April next year. We have planned a number of activities to engage golfers in India. We will organize golfing events in Thailand as well depending on when the scheduled international flights resume,” said Vachirachai Sirisumpan, Director, TAT, New Delhi Office.
The Season 4 of Thai Golf Pass will include a number of roadshows pan India, a promotional event in India with two events scheduled in Thailand in August and September 2020 respectively. A survey of Indian Golfers, photo contest and a quiz are also some of the activities that are part of the promotions being undertaken.
More than 250 quality service providers like Callaway and a number of golf courses, resorts and hotels are on board as partners.
“Thai Golf Passport creates a membership that shares common values and interests, and at the same time provides an engaging golfing and networking platform for all the stakeholders. We are excited to partner with this innovative initiative for the 4th season which will help us to reach our customers directly,” said Shashank Chaudhary, Sales & Marketing Director, Callaway Golf India.
Chitranjan Bakhshi, Business Head, SLW Golf Holidays said, “Thailand is the most popular destination for golfers. The Thai Golf Pass, which is supported by TAT is a brilliant scheme to reward the keen golfers to experience this destination.”
Thailand is widely regarded as a paradise for golfers with more than 250 international standard golf courses, professional caddies, warm hospitality, wellness, food and entertainment.
Daniel D’souza, President and Country Head, Leisure, SOTC Travel said, “Our association with SLW enables us to showcase a unique side to the destination. We are happy to work with SLW to launch Thai Golf Pass – Season 4 and look forward to Indian golfers being a part of this programme.”
“Golfing in Thailand is always a great experience thanks to the world-class standard of the golf courses, professional staff and wonderful hospitality. While hotels and airlines have loyalty programs, this is a first-of-its-kind initiative where a destination has created such a program. We support all golf tourism initiatives and are confident that Golf Pass – Season 4 will really encourage golf travel,” said Rajan Sehgal, President, Indian Golf Travel Association (IGTA).
