TAT hosts Amazing Thailand Roadshow in Lucknow and Chandigarh

To strengthen Thailand’s position as a preferred holiday destination for Indian tourists, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized the Amazing Thailand Roadshow in Lucknow and Chandigarh. The events aimed to create new opportunities for collaboration between Indian travel agents and Thai sellers, including hotels, attractions, destination management companies (DMCs), and airlines.

The networking events began with a Business-to-Business (B2B) session, providing Indian travel agents the opportunity to engage directly with 30 sellers from Thailand. The interactions allowed for in-depth discussions about Thailand’s unique travel offerings, catering to the diverse preferences of Indian travellers.

The evening commenced with opening remarks from Phimpha Ratanapruk, Deputy Executive Director of the ASEAN, South Asia, and South Pacific Department of TAT. She warmly welcomed the travel trade in both cities and emphasized the longstanding relationship between Indian travellers and Thailand. Her remarks set the tone for the event, celebrating the collaboration between Indian and Thai travel industries.

Following the welcome speech, TAT presented the Amazing Thailand Product Showcase, highlighting new destinations, unique products, and memorable experiences available in Thailand. A special focus was placed on promoting Thailand’s Wellness Tourism offerings, showcasing the country’s world-renowned wellness and health retreats.

At the roadshows, Siriges-a-nong Trirattanasongpol, Director of the TAT New Delhi Office, underscored the significance of Indian visitors to Thailand, expressing appreciation for the continued support from the Indian travel trade. She noted that India is currently ranked as the third-largest source market for inbound tourists to Thailand, reflecting the growing interest of Indian travelers in exploring the country’s diverse offerings.

The Director also expressed her gratitude for visiting the vibrant cities of Lucknow and Chandigarh, acknowledging the significant contributions of travel agents, wedding planners, and media representatives in these regions. She highlighted the rapid growth of travellers from Tier 2 cities in India, which continue to display high potential for international travel, particularly to Thailand.
