With the onset of Navratras, Mother Earth becomes a heavenly abode, especially in India where the celebration is on leaps and the festive fever is on a high. A few days ago we were privileged to visit Vivanta New Delhi, Dwarka for a meal on the go and voila, what a place to be at for lunch. We were enchanted with the state-of-the-art decor of the hotel with a minimalistic approach, beautiful ambience with rich flora all around it radiating soothing vibes amidst the hustle and bustle of overcrowded New Delhi.
The wooden furniture in the lobby charms the entire facility and the green background lifts up your mood along with the mouth-watering cuisine that is customised to perfection for living the joy of the Saatvik lifestyle at least for the nine days of celebration of Durga Puja or Dussehra.
Since some of us are observing the Navratri fast, we gorged on the Navratra special thali as the food served was not just delicious but authentic to the best. Creo, the all-day diner at Vivanta New Delhi, Dwarka is offering this traditional thali till 5th October 2022. The thali is comprised of a delectable range of classical and contemporary delicacies perfected to please discerning diners. We relished the traditional ‘Navratra’ dishes like Singhada Aur Methi Ki Subzi Aloo Rasedar, Arbi Kadhi, Cucumber Salad, Sabudana Vada, Kele Aur Anjir Ki Tikki , Kuttu Ka Paratha_and desserts like _Kesar Ras-bhari. The Singhara and Methi ki subzi became our hot favourite, the Arbi kadhi and the Kele and Anjir ki tikki were unreasonably satiating. You might have had Kuttu ka parantha earlier but this one loaded with the goodness of ghee will definitely fulfill your appetite.
The thali is unlimited and you can fulfill your craving but honestly, there are so many things in the thali that it is more than sufficient for one person. The hotel has also kept the prices very competitive as its purpose is to let people experience the hospitality of the property as well as good Saatvik food.
Talking about the Navratra thali, Rishikesh Rai, Executive Chef, Vivanta New Delhi, Dwarka shared his thoughts. He reiterates our experience of a satiating thali and says, “Whenever the season changes, our immune system is low. So in Saatvik food, we avoid tamasic (heat generating) ingredients like onion, garlic, coriander powder etc. In fact, the oil we use to prepare the Saatvik food is peanut oil or ghee as they have cooling effects. The ingredients we select are light on the stomach and are easily digestible. Basically, you detox yourself during these nine days and get ready for the chilly winters. Of course, religious beliefs help us to further strengthen our metabolic system. In this menu, we have taken inspiration from our authentic Indian cuisine, which has family values associated with it. We have also innovated dishes like Singhara and Meethi ki sabzi, which you will not find on the regular menu. However, we have not deviated from our traditions and tried to be as close as we can to our roots. With this thali, we tried to present our culture to our guests“
One more thing which is worth mentioning and is common in all Taj properties is their warm hospitality and personalized attention to all guests alike. Vivanta New Delhi, Dwarka is not an exception. The staff ensures that you are comfortable and enjoy every moment you spend at the lavish property.
One thing we can say is that this sumptuous thali should not be missed this Navratri. So grab your booking today before the special deal runs out!
