Prahlad Singh Patel is India’s new Tourism Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday named Prahlad Sigh Patel as the new minister for Tourism as well as Culture.
Less than a day after the swearing-in ceremony, Modi’s new cabinet met for the first time on Friday afternoon.
Portfolios were allocated to the 57 ministers who took oath on Thursday.
Patel born on June 28, 1960 is a  member of Indian Parliament from Damoh Lok Sabha constituency in Madhya Pradesh. 
He was first elected to 9th Lok Sabha in 1989 and again re-elected to 11th Lok Sabha in 1996 (2nd term), 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 (3rd term), 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 (4th term). 
He was born in Narsinghpur and is an advocate by profession. His younger brother Jalam Singh Patel was minister in Madhya Pradesh.

On the other hand Amit Shah has been given the important Home ministry while Rajnath Singh gets charge of Defence and Nirmala Sitharaman Finance in the allocation of portfolios announced in a Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué on Friday, a day after a 57-member council of ministers took oath, along with PM Narendra Modi, at a glittering ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
